 Earthquake drill

An automated PowerPoint that I run during the topic. Students read the messages which appear during the lesson, then hide under the desks when an earthquake occurs.... just a bit of fun. I change the timings, messages and the number of earthquakes each lesson to keep them on their toes...

 Introducing Earthquakes

I like creative writing in Geography, so this introductory task gets students to put themselves in an earthquake and consider the impacts. Includes a PowerPoint and starter video... I'm not too happy with the quality of the video, but it seems to work nicely.

 Seismographs

This lesson is based around the Thinking Through Geography seismograph task, which always seems to be a favourite with students.

 Lego Street 'Earthquake'

Student generated earthquake animation, which I know some colleagues like to use a starter.

 Tectonic Hands

Just a bit of fun...  students change the position of their hands to represent different plate boundaries. It's timed, but needs some appropriate background music.
